Go behind the scenes of the U16s' halftime talk, down 0-1 against Sacramento Republic in the GA Cup Qualifier First Round at MLS Next Fest. My goal was to challenge the team's work ethic, discuss tactics and offer motivating words. The boys fought back to tie with a late goal and advanced on PKs. Great job, U16s!

The U16s secured their sixth consecutive win today with an impressive comeback. Down 0-2, the team showcased mental resilience, regained control and scored these three crucial goals. We've earned top spot in the league heading into the holiday break and have plenty of momentum to build on in the Spring.

Camera killing the justice of the 2nd slide. Down 1-2 at half, that goal was on a half volley from the cross. Camera missed the half volley. Tied game 2-2 off the 2nd half kickoff without them touching the ball.

Quality goal from the U16s this weekend. From patience in the build to engage their high defensive line, to rotational movement among players, to using both sides of the field to unlock their back line, to breaking lines in central channels, I could go on but all of these topics were worked on in training in the last few weeks. Always pleased to see it come out in games.

We played our worst half of the year in the first half and were down 0-2. Played our game in the 2nd half which led to this goal and another to tie it 2-2 before ultimately going down 2-3. Tough, but can’t expect anything after our first half performance. Back to work to improve where we can.

Worked on the Outside Back and Attacking Midfield combination play in our attacking shape for a 4-1-2-1 in the 9v9 model. If our outside back gets the ball inside, it triggers the attacking mid on his side to get wide. We can play this pass but it may open up central options for the outside back if defenders over play wide movement. If they stay central, let’s be confident and creative to combine to break lines. Brilliantly executed by the youngsters.

This NC native is heading for the flat fields of Indiana.

Excited to announce I will be joining the Indy Eleven Pro Academy coaching staff next year. I will be coaching the u12s and u15s in MLS Next. I look forward to working with and learning from top level players in a professional environment.

With that ends my time with North Carolina FC and I couldn’t be more thankful for my time here. I will always wear the NCFC badge with pride. Thanks to everyone who helped me get this opportunity.

The 3rd picture is of a 8 team tournament championship. Boys were down 4-0 at halftime of the first game. Won 5-4 on the goal on the the 4th slide. They wanted to dump water on me after the game; I told them they had to win the championship and they could. As you see in the 5th slide, they succeeded.
